Sampson Cleaning is delighted to announce that the company has completed a substantial builders clean of the new £165 million Victoria Gate shopping development in Leeds city centre which was opened to the public last week.

The development is an exciting addition to the already vibrant shopping scene in Leeds with Victoria Gate’s two street arcades boasting 30 new retail brands and restaurants as well as a casino.

The builders clean contract at Victoria Gate, awarded to Sampson Cleaning by the project’s construction contractor Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd, included full internal and external cleans to all glazing, the arcade floor and all back of house areas.

Speaking on the successful completion of the builders clean and Victoria Gate project, David Firth, Project Manager for Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd, was full of praise for Sampson Cleaning.

“As you are no doubt aware, Victoria Gate was successfully opened to customers in a spectacular opening ceremony covered on both national and local media, and to much critical acclaim, on Thursday 20th October.

“This was right on time with the planned opening date, which was set back in June earlier this year.

“The building has been well received by both customers and architectural critics alike, but more importantly, by an exceptionally delighted client and the individual tenants of the retail units who have been full of praise for the spectacular nature of the finished building and the sheer volume of work which was delivered in that intense 3 month period in the run up to opening.

“It has perhaps been one of the most technically challenging, geometrically complex, and logistically constrained projects which we have been faced with. Consequently, a successful completion does not happen by accident, and is testament to the effort placed into the project by all who worked on it.

“I am therefore writing to you to congratulate your company on the efforts over the past 2 months in helping us to achieve a successful conclusion to this landmark project – and particularly the intensive last 2 weeks when had to respond to a final building clean around a multitude of tenant units still accessing the building with stock and merchandising personnel.

“The finished scheme is of an excellent quality and the whole building is one that we should all be proud of – and I look forward to working with Sampson Cleaning again on future projects.

“Please pass on my thanks to the whole of your team involved.”
