Northern Rail
Sampson Cleaning were selected to carry out a full ceiling and soffit clean at Manchester Victoria station. This involved steam jetting the entire ceiling (including over track sections) of the station to remove the carbon deposits left by the diesel train engines. Access was provided by various methods including Spider MEWPS and track mounted scaffolds. A team of Sampson staff undertook a 2 day PTS (Personal Track Safety) course allowing them to work in the hazardous rail environment. The clean took place through the night over an 8 week period and was delivered on specification and under programme time. In light of this performance Sampson have since been awarded a number of specialist cleaning contracts across several prestigious stations across the North West.
